Up for sale is this gorgeous Baule "Colon" figure, one of two we are currently selling.
Colon figures are wooden sculptures from the Ivory Coast, created by the Baule people during the French colonial period (popularized post-WWII) to depict European colonists and Westernized Africans. These often painted, satirical, or naive-style statues feature uniforms, suits, and hats, representing a creative response to colonial influence.
This dapper gent is in excellent condition with light wear to the paint, as pictured, and stands tall at 20" x 3" x 3":
