The repetition creates a rhythmic, almost lattice-like structure across the field, with minor internal variation adding visual texture in colorful bursts. The composition is enclosed by multiple geometric borders: an inner guard with angular, reciprocal motifs and a wider main border featuring stylized, directional elements and abstracted figures. The overall design emphasizes symmetry, repetition, and strong tribal geometry, characteristic of Caucasian weaving traditions. Colors and shades include: Navy blue, madder root red, sunflower yellow, pale tangerine orange, beige, sand, ivory, sapphire blue and more. Condition notes: Wear across to foundation and knot heads. Hard tatter to sides and ends with scattered holes and minor splits across. Small adhesive approximately a half-dollar size on reverse side not seen from the face of the carpet. One end measures 3'7 whereas the opposing measures 3'9. This variation is within normal margins for hand knotted rugs of this type, age, and size. Ideally suited for a wall hanging, draped textile, or situated in a low traffic area deeper inside the home. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Caucasian rug made in the Caucasus region circa 1910's vintage. See less
