A Louis XVI style, a neoclassical design that emerged in France in the late 18th century as a move away from the ornate curves of the earlier Rococo period. The chairs have straight, tapered legs that resemble classical columns.
The legs and the backrest frame feature vertical grooves (fluting), a motif inspired by ancient Greek and Roman architecture.
Carved floral rosette squares are visible at the top of the legs where they meet the seat frame. The overall silhouette is clean and balanced.
