The top retains a beautifully worn, and faded hand-painted polychrome composition made up of scrolling foliate flourishes, and colorful florals having bow and stem accents in the Adam neoclassical taste. The aged palette is soft and mellowed in tones of weathered taupe, ochre, green, and dusty rose. The top is supported by a deep scalloped apron with a softly painted surface having an attractive weathered patina. The table is raised by four slender tapering square legs. The elegant piece works equally well as a center table, games table or a breakfast dining table in a blend of Italian Provincial, Neoclassical, and Country styles. The table has ample leg clearance measuring 24.5" inches from the floor to the apron. The table is sturdy with solid joinery and construction having a desirable distressed patina on the painted finish as seen in photos. Provenance: From the collection of Adolphus Andrews Jr. and Emily Taylor Andrews (Emmy and Dolph), San Francisco, CA.
