The basket features a broad oval mouth, wrapped rim, tapered body, and loop handles at each end. Remnants of white painted winery markings are visible on the sides, along with wood supports. The varied coloration, handwoven character, and authentic wear give the piece a rich rustic character, suited for Farmhouse, Country, and French Provincial spaces. Originally intended for use in a vineyard, the basket is functional as a decorative piece in or outdoors or storage for firewood, linens or laundry. From a Napa Valley winery estate in CA. Faded winery initials G.S. on the outside of the basket. The large basket measures nearly 3 feet wide.
