Influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian approach to seating, the design emphasizes durability, clarity of structure, and honest materials. It became widely recognized through its use in early Chipotle interiors.

This later iteration replaces raw plywood with a resin-composite surface, offering a more uniform tone and increased resilience while maintaining the original architectural intent.

These examples are unlabeled and were sourced directly from a Chipotle location during a remodel.

Constructed with straightforward, serviceable hardware including standard p-clamps, allowing for easy long-term maintenance.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with wear consistent with use. Composite seats and backs show light surface wear, including some staining and minor edge chipping in areas. Steel frames have developed a natural patina with light surface marks. Subtle variation between chairs, including slight differences in fabrication. All chairs are structurally solid and sit well.
