A witty and clever sculpture that is simply the cat's meow! This vintage cat shaped sculpture is formed with repurposed metal including horseshoes and what appears to be a bocce ball mold. It is finished with a purposefully distressed lacquered gold gilding that provides a brutalist aesthetic. I love the hand hammered look and the comical appearance of the cat's face and exaggerated whiskers. No artist's hallmark though there are markings on the bocce ball mold that were probably associated with the original manufacture of the mold.
Very good condition.
Measures 8.25" tall x 6" wide at the whiskers x 8" deep from front paws to tail tip. Very heavy and due to both weight and the spikiness of the whiskers, probably inappropriate for a home with little ones.
