Traveling Man Treasures is selling this lovely pair of antique Chinese gilt wood carving panels, likely from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or early 20th century. The panels are hand-carved from wood, finely finished with a gold gilt, and in excellent condition with no issues.
The panels feature intricate, handcrafted, three-dimensional scenes of warriors on horseback in battle, set near traditional pavilions or temple architectural elements and floral arrays; often depicting narratives from classical Chinese folklore or operas. Historically, these panels were installed in Chinese temples or noble residences as decorative architectural elements.
