A thick and milky white heavy ceramic featuring an … Read more Beautiful 1940’s-50’s Swedish Faience ceramic mirror by Stig Lindberg for Gustavsberg. A thick and milky white heavy ceramic featuring an artistic wavy waffling pattern of dark cobalt blue with turquoise blue accents In very good vintage condition with an unseen chip on the backside (photo) near the hole designed for hanging. It has been hanging on it’s existing wire for the past 70 years as it is with no issues. The photos of the mirror were taken with a black board in front to avoid a reflection in the glass. The mirror is perfect with no scratches. It has a wavy undulating edge that adds dimension when hung on the wall. It has the original holes with which to hang it but could be used as a table/dresser tray or in an easel.

Launched in the 1940's the Faience collection by Stig Lindberg became an instant hit with the Swedish market and was produced by Gustavsberg where Stig Lindberg worked and eventually became the art director between during the early 1950's and 1970’s. His studio hand painted items are highly sought after. This mirror is signed by him as well as the factory…and…it has its original paper label as well (photos). See less
