This painting from 1994 presents a scenic view of the eastern shore of Fraueninsel on Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria and is a characteristic example of Alexander Michael’s lively, impressionist-inspired landscape painting. In the foreground, the gently moving lake water, wooden pier elements, and shoreline vegetation dominate the composition. To the right, dense foliage and reeds lead toward a small group of simple lakeside buildings with red-tiled roofs, which stand out warmly against the cooler blues of the lake.
