A hand-carved wood table lamp by Swedish folk artist Sven-Göran Niklasson, working under the name Niklas 2 Snidare in Hova, Sweden. The piece dates to the period 1981–1989, when Niklasson worked alongside his brother Sören in Hova before relocating to Dalarna. The original maker's tag — "Hand Made / Niklas 2 Snidare / Hova Sweden" — is intact and attached to the piece.
The lamp depicts a whimsical distillery scene: a hand-carved tower, barrel, and pipe construction mounted on an organic, landscape-shaped base, with miniature firewood arranged around the bulb socket to simulate a campfire flame. Every element is carved from a single palette of natural wood, with faceted tool marks left deliberately visible as part of the aesthetic.
Niklasson is known for large-scale public commissions including sports awards for World Cup cross-country skiing (1985) and World Championship orienteering (1989), as well as monumental public sculptures in Örebro and Hova.
