A quiet balance between weight and lightness defines this table. The composition draws from architectural restraint, where material and structure meet without excess.
Design
The rectangular top is carved from Gotland limestone, a material long associated with Scandinavian building traditions. Its surface carries a dense pattern of fossilised fragments and mineral deposits, ranging from warm terracotta tones to pale calcified inclusions. Subtle variations and natural veining animate the plane, giving the stone a sense of movement without ornament. The edges are kept straight and unadorned, allowing the character of the stone to remain central. Supporting this mass, the base consists of two chrome-plated steel trestles.
Each element is formed from bent tubular steel, creating a continuous loop that provides both stability and visual lightness. The reflective finish introduces a contrast to the matte, porous stone, while the open geometry ensures the table retains an airy presence despite its substantial top. The construction recalls late modernist and functionalist approaches, where industrial materials were used to offset natural surfaces.
A table that holds presence without dominance. Its proportions and material dialogue make it suited for both domestic dining and studio environments.
Condition
The condition is good, with some visible wear to the limestone surface consistent with age and use. The chrome bases show light signs of oxidation and minor surface marks.
