Good size at eight feet tall - 243 cm. This was salvaged from an american burger bar in south wales. Circa 1930. Of course, being bronze this can live outside with no fear of rusting the figure is shown holding the torch aloft while grasping the tablet in the other hand, faithfully reflecting the classical design of the original statue. The surface has developed an attractive green verdigris patina, enhancing the sculptural detail of the drapery, crown and facial features. The statue stands on an integral base and has an impressive presence, making it ideal for display indoors or as a garden ornament. A dramatic decorative piece inspired by the world-famous monument created by frc)dc)ric auguste bartholdi was offered in great shape.
