Simple and robust, it embodies 19th-century rural craftsmanship in all its authenticity: no superfluous ornamentation, no frills, just the raw beauty of solid oak, hand-worked, assembled with mortise and tenon joints, and patinated by decades of daily use.

this type of furniture was once used in farmhouses, rectories, or small rural workshops, for everything from meal preparation to administrative or craft tasks. Today, it blends seamlessly into contemporary interiors seeking authenticity: as a bedside table, entryway console, side table, or small desk, its uses are many.

materials: the frame is made of solid oak, a noble wood renowned for its exceptional strength and longevity. The tabletop reveals a beautiful natural wood grain with expressive patterns. The warm, golden-brown patina, acquired over time, testifies to the beeswax treatment characteristic of well-preserved country furniture.

features: this antique table rests on four straight, square-section legs, typical of 19th-century rural woodwork. The base is reinforced with an h-shaped stretcher halfway up, a traditional joinery that provides remarkable stability and is one of the stylistic hallmarks of this type of regional french production.

the apron houses a single drawer in the front, fitted with its original round, blackened wooden knob. condition & restoration: the tabletop has been very lightly sanded to minimize some stains. The entire table was then waxed. Note a few stains on the tabletop and that the brace on the right rear leg is detached, but this does not affect the table's sturdiness or stability.
