The pieces are decorated on the characteristic blush ivory ground, a creamy satin-like glaze that became one of the factory’s most recognisable finishes during the late Victorian period.

The decoration reflects Worcester’s taste for lightly scattered naturalistic floral sprays across the soft ivory surface, including chrysanthemum blossoms. This flower became highly fashionable in European decorative arts during the late nineteenth century, influenced by the growing popularity of Japanese art and porcelain.

The teapot is of attractive globular form with a domed cover and compact proportions, while the cup is tall and slightly tapering and the saucer simple and elegant, allowing the floral decoration to remain clearly visible.

On the base appears the puce Royal Worcester factory mark together with pattern number 4158. The teapot is dated 1894, while the cup and saucer are dated 1893.
