Vinicio Vianello for Vistosi, Italy, circa 1957.
A rare, sculptural pendant lamp with a polyhedral body made of hand-blown smoked glass and a finely patinated metal structure. The clearly faceted glass volume is among Vinicio Vianello's early experimental designs for Vistosi, in which he combines sculpture, light, and glass design into radically modern forms. The lamp is documented in scholarly literature on Vinicio Vianello and belongs to the group of works for which Vianello was awarded the Compasso d’Oro and the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1957.
