A rare louis poulsen designer light fixture from the 1960s, no longer in production.
although louis poulsen is best known for other iconic light fixtures, the “waggon” model is every bit as impressive as those other classics, thanks to its innovative design, minimalism, and unique aesthetic.
in the early 1960s, louis poulsen drew inspiration from the vintage light fixtures found in the first-class cars of danish trains. The goal was to create a recessed light fixture that was as discreet as possible, resulting in an aluminum structure covered with a brass disc and featuring a curved, matte opal glass shade.
with its rounded shape and elegant combination of brass and glass, this light fixture is a true gem. When lit, it casts a soft, pleasant light through the frosted glass without glare, while the brass ring creates a lovely contrast.
this wall sconce, which can also be used as a ceiling light, works perfectly with a standard e27 bulb (included).
the “louis poulsen” label is present.
