This atmospheric work, titled in Latvian on the reverse as "Ziemas" (Winter), depicts a traditional horse-drawn sleigh traversing a snowy landscape.

Skulte’s masterful impressionistic style is on full display here, using thick, confident brushstrokes to create the texture of heavy snow and the movement of the horse. The piece is signed "A. Skulte" on the front and inscribed by the artist on the reverse with the title.
