Designed by richard sapper, the tizio is one of the most important lamps of the 20th century and a staple of international design collections. This particular example comes from the strictly limited series of 7,000 pieces worldwide and is signed and numbered on the arm (no. 1371/7000). Its characteristic construction with balanced arms, integrated power supply, and minimalist design makes the tizio a milestone in functional design to this day.
