Its heavy, well-worn character and original paintings give the piece an incredible charm. Both the design of the chest and the painting are simple and rustic, yet authentic and a typical example of folk art from the region. The chest is painted in a soft blue color with red accents, featuring trees of life on the panels and scroll motifs on the sides. A nice detail is a bit of "graffiti" from the time; though barely visible, someone carved their name on the side of the chest in the early 20th century. The cabinet has been professionally restored in its entirety, with a focus on originality and character. The construction is solid, the paintwork is worn but preserved, and the patina has been retained. The interior consists of an original shelf and a later-added rod. The cabinet can be locked with the original working lock and its impressive key. Old, sporadic woodworm traces have been inspected and treated. 169 cm high, 122 cm wide, 47 cm deep. See less
