Designed for extended travel, the tall format provided generous storage while remaining robust enough to withstand long journeys by rail and sea.

the trunk retains its original brass hardware, wooden slats and interior lining, all characteristic of louis vuitton’s early craftsmanship and attention to detail. The damier canvas, introduced in the late 19th century, was both practical and instantly recognisable, making it one of the firm’s most enduring signatures.

condition

in overall good antique condition with wear, scuffs and marks consistent with age and extensive use. The canvas shows areas of rubbing and patina, and the interior displays age-related discolouration. Lacking trays and keys. Please refer to photographs.
