Set of six "Medea" chairs designed by Vittorio Nobili in collaboration with Tagliabue Fratelli in the 1950s, one of the most recognizable projects of postwar Italian design. The model was born from the encounter between the architects' creative design and the artisanal expertise of Brianza's industries, particularly the Tagliabue Fratelli cabinetmaking workshop, with which Sediamedea experimented with new bentwood techniques. The chair features a contoured and curved mahogany shell, with a fluid and enveloping line, devoid of sharp edges and designed to follow the natural inclination of the body. The design is distinguished by a refined balance between solids and voids. The seat rests on slender black metal legs, creating an elegant contrast between the materials. The chair received an Honorable Mention at the Compasso d'Oro in 1956, a recognition that confirmed its value in the Italian design scene.
