A stunning inlaid starburst decorates the top of this piece, with a matching half-burst at the base. Mahogany banding outlines every surface, cock-beaded drawers, with fruitwood and ebony stringing for additional contrast. The chippendale-esque brass hardware adds that extra bit of traditional flare to bring the harmony of the piece together, as it stands on spayed ogee feet. Excellent dovetail construction. Evidence of quality old bandage repair to the back panels. Fabulous age and character to the piece, the bones are as old as 18th century, though the beautiful veneering is a later reskinning 19th century revival of William & Mary designs.
