The table features a substantial rectangular plank top measuring over 3 inches thick and nearly 10 feet long. The design has softly rounded corners and breadboard ends. The top is supported by a large trestle base with interesting spade-shaped legs ending with wide shoe feet. The legs are conjoined by a long stretcher having an exposed mortise and tenon joinery. The table is constructed with visible peg joinery details adding to the authentic character of the piece. The table is executed in oak with a rich tobacco-brown finish, displaying beautiful oak grain patterns throughout the strong architectural silhouette. The table is very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The top of the table is surprisingly flat and true given its massive size, having very minimal shrinkage. The design has a classical European farmhouse profile in the French Provincial style with Rustic, and French Country influences making the table suitable for a variety of interiors. The massive top measures 3.25" thick and sits over an ample leg clearance of 27 inches".
