Born in 1951 in northern New Jersey, Osborne still resides there today having built a career around painting the natural landscape of the Hudson Valley area. He graduated Cum Laude from the Pratt Institute in New York with a degree in fine arts. Later he studied with Alban Albert and Arthur Maynard who was a student of Frank DuMond at the Art Student's League of New York. Over the years, Osborne has traveled throughout Europe, Alaska, Canada and Hawaii to capture the variety and uniqueness of these impressive landscapes.

Osborne paints in oil, working with subtle values and colors. His work captures "a small moment in nature; a feeling of coming just a little closer to the grand scheme of things." Known for his handling of light and attention to atmospheric effects, he excels in recording specific times of day, seasons, and weather conditions.

His awards include: The Bergen Museum of Art and Science, the Best in Show and Light and Atmospheric Effect from the Hudson Valley Art Association, NY and the Ridgewood Art Institute, NJ, Awards for Landscape from the Salmagundi Club, NY and Knickerbocker Artists, NY. He has been included in Strathmore's Who's Who, American Artist, Art News and Palette Talk. Osborne's paintings have traveled around the world as a part of the Art in the Embassy program which includes such countries as South America, Indonesia, Aftica and Russia.
