Claude Joseph Vernet "La Peche Heureuse" Engraving by A. Zingg. Beautiful black and white grayscale engraving on paper, with brass wood frame and matting. An 18th-Century classical landscape originally painted by French master Claude Joseph Vernet (1714-1789) engraved by the noble printmaker A. Zingg. An Arcadian/Romantic landscape that heavily emphasizes nature, soft light, and pastoral tranquility (a style heavily influenced by Claude Lorrain). Depicts local fishermen pulling up nets or lines alongside classical ruins and natural scenery.
Glass was recently replaced with new Museum quality glass.
