Traveling Man Treasures is selling this gorgeous late Qing Dynasty (c. 1800s–1912) Chinese polychrome glazed earthenware Imperial roof tile featuring an armored warrior/deity riding a galloping horse in a dynamic "riding" pose. The tile is impressed with a Chinese chop stamp/seal signature on the reverse. The piece is in fine display condition (as noted in the photos).

13.25" H x 13" L x 4.75" W
Chinese imperial roof tiles were traditionally used as protective "roof charms" to ward off evil spirits and offer spiritual protection to buildings. These decorative tiles were mounted along the ridges of roofs before being converted into decorative indoor sculptures with wooden stands.
