A charming and highly collectible English Coffee Pot by Royal Doulton, produced for G. B. & Sons Ltd., London, and decorated in the beloved “Reynard the Fox” pattern. This early 20th century piece features a beautifully rendered seated fox with rich hand - finished tones, set against a creamy ground with contrasting black trim. The sculptural handle, molded in the form of a hunting horn, is a distinctive and desirable design element associated with traditional English sporting wares. The lid is topped with a bold red knob, adding a striking visual accent.
“Reynard the Fox” draws from the medieval European trickster character and came to be a popular motif in British Country houses, and fox hunting culture. Pieces from this series are increasingly sought after for their warmth, character, and decorative appeal.
