Standing out with its … Read more Charming gilt, large 19th century wall mirror from the famous Biedermeier period in Austria around 1840. Standing out with its lovely floral stucco works and rounded corners, this fantastic looking frame was restored by our experts by taking greatest care to keep the charme of a long past period as best as possible. We also kept the lovely patina and sealed it with a light shellac coating. This really looks amazing alongside the different kinds of gilt techniques (composition gold/ gold leaf) that were used for this beautiful masterpiece of a Biedermeier mirror. The mirror plate with special facet cut is still the original one and shows slight scratches and aging spots but is fully functional. The backside of the mirror has been closed with a card board and the hand forged ring makes wall mounting easy. A truly gorgeous 19th century Biedermeier wall mirror which could either be used in vertical or horizontal format. See less
