Charles Hinman is a highly regarded abstract minimalist painter who blurs the lines between painting and sculpture. He is most known for creating three-dimensional shaped canvas paintings in the mid-1960's. Born in 1932 in Syracuse, he has featured his works in solo and group exhibitions, major commissions, and institutional and corporate collections around the world since the 1960's. He has won many awards including the Guggenheim Fellowship in 2012.
This original piece is authentically marked with the original Best Product Co. product label on the back, specifying the piece is an untitled 1980 Charles Hinman Paper & Pigment. Best Product Co was a prominent American showroom retail chain founded in 1967 by Frances and Sydney in Lewis, VA. Best Product Co went out of business in 1996.
