Pair of Custom Vintage Wooden Corinthian Column Pedestals with Acanthus Leaf Capitals –
These are a stunning matched pair of tall, custom-made vintage wooden architectural pedestals (or columns) in the classic Corinthian order, featuring highly detailed hand-carved acanthus leaf capitals—the signature ornate motif of this style (scrolls and leafy volutes). The smooth, fluted or plain dark-stained hardwood shafts have a rich, warm mahogany-like tone and substantial round molded bases. Each is topped with a flat square platform (perfect for potted plants and or nothing).
Exact measurements (per column):
Total height: 55.5 inches (≈ 4 ft 7.5 in / 141 cm)
Top platform: 12 inches square
Shaft width/diameter: ≈ 11.5 inches
They are solid, heavy construction (not lightweight reproductions) and appear to be in very good vintage condition with beautiful original patina, several minor cracks, expected wear, and no major damage or repairs. The dark finish and custom quality suggest mid-20th century or earlier craftsmanship, likely made for a grand interior in a luxury home.
Came out of a Hope Ranch estate in Santa Barbara, California—one of the most exclusive, historic, and affluent neighborhoods on the Central Coast. This high-end Santa Barbara origin adds significant collector and decorative appeal (many Hope Ranch homes feature fine architectural elements and classical detailing).
Ideal uses: Flanking a fireplace or entryway, as elegant interior accents in traditional, neoclassical, or luxury homes, or as tall plant stands. They instantly elevate any space with timeless Greek/Roman-inspired grandeur.
