These four beautifully executed crustacean prints were hand-colored by FD Heidenreich in 1793 and are in the style of Mark Catesby an English naturalist that worked a bit before Heidenreich. The inscriptions are in Latin.
Newly framed and matted in wooden with gold wash.
Site line measures approximately 11 x 18 with 1 to 2 inches variation. The framed prints themselves also vary from up to about one half inch in height and width.
A very impressive set.
