Two-part 19th century French pine buffet, circa 1865, in all-original working condition. Currently holding heavy kitchen appliances — this thing is built like a room, not a piece of furniture.
44” wide x 24” deep x 8’ tall with the cornice. Separates cleanly into two pieces for transport.
What makes this one different:
The cornice is fully intact — deep, substantial crown molding with the kind of profile you don’t see on stripped or restored examples. Six raised-panel doors across both bodies, each with its original turned wood knobs. Nothing replaced, nothing added. The hand-cut joinery at the corners is still tight after 160 years. The back panels are original rough-cut pine boards — the kind of construction detail that tells you exactly where and when this was made.
The surface has never been painted or refinished. What you’re seeing is raw pine that’s developed its patina naturally over a century and a half — honey tones where it’s been handled, deeper color in the molding profiles. That surface integrity is what serious buyers are paying for and what most pieces on the market have lost.
Beautiful and practical in equal measure. It holds its own weight as a statement piece and works just as hard as a storage piece.
