Oval Mirror Frame- - A Tribute to Jean-Micael Frank
Designed and crafted By Val Khvan, this elegant oval mirror pays homage to the timeless aesthetic of legendary French designer Jean Micael Frank. The frame is meticulously finished using the traditional art of straw marquetry (Marqueterie de Paille), executed by master artisan Tamara Kan. Each piece of straw is hand-dyed in France, cut, flattened, and inlaid to create a luminous, textured surface that catches and reflects light in subtle, shifting tones. The result is a striking blend of minimalist form and rich, organic detail --- a celebration of modernist restraint and artisanal tradition.
