In 1989 The New York Times reviewed Pfister's collection as follows: "In one of the market's handsomest offerings, Baker introduced a 60-piece collection by Charles Pfister, the '21' Club designer also known for his office furniture; he had never done a residential collection. The pieces, many executed in honey-colored primavera wood with canted corners and concentric brass pulls, reflected the influence of 18th- and 19th-century Russia and 18th-century Sweden, as well as the 1950's furniture of T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings." See less
