the pedestal is constructed from a robust solid oak corner frame rising from a cubic base, while the two display tiers are executed in thinner wood, creating a subtle contrast. The composition of vertical planes and projecting horizontal platforms reflects the architectural language associated with dutch modernist architects and designers such as hendrik wouda and frits spanjaard, whose work was influenced by the spatial ideas of frank lloyd wright.
