I’m always drawn to them—they bring a kind of brightness that feels almost unexpected against the surrounding foliage.

The composition is loosely gathered, allowing the plants to move and lean into one another. I was interested in the contrast between the structured leaves and the softer, clustered forms below, as well as the shifting color within the greens themselves. Subtle violets and blues move through the shadows, giving the garden a sense of depth and quiet rhythm.

This painting holds that in-between moment—light settling in, color gently shifting, everything alive but unforced.

Painted en plein air, directly from observation. The painting does come wired to hang "as is".
