Channeling the bold architectural energy of 1980s postmodern design, this striking table lamp is created in the sophisticated manner of Max Blumberg. The sculptural composition centers on a textured plaster form, substantial yet organic, cradled within a slender iron tripod frame. The contrast between the solid body and its minimalist geometric supports creates a compelling tension of weight and lightness, structure and air.
Crowned with a wide conical shade in a complementary mottled finish, the lamp balances industrial edge with refined artistry. In excellent vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use. Minor scuffs are present on the base, and a few marks are on the underside of the shade. The shade also shows one small area of separation (please see photo). These subtle signs of time contribute to the lamp’s authentic patina and distinctive vintage character.
