Decorated with gold winged horses or Pegasus and lyres on a red ground in the Empire taste. Complete with zinc liners. Measure 12 1/4" across over handles x 4 1/2" tall. Top opening measures 10 1/2" x 8 1/8". Originally used to chill glasses at the table and called a verrier or rafraichissoir. Good condition - wear and loss to decoration consistent with age and use.
