Maurer was known … Read more This table lamp from the 1960s was designed by the German designer Ingo Maurer for Design M. Maurer was known for his free and poetic approach to lighting design. In his work, technique, material, and atmosphere come together to create objects that are both functional and expressive. The base of the lamp is crafted from mouth-blown opal glass. The glass has a soft, organic shape. Starting from a broad base, the form curves inward and then opens up again upwards. This flowing line gives the lamp a calm and balanced appearance. On top of the glass base is the original chrome-plated metal fitting with a screw ring. This is used to attach the lampshade. The shade features an understated pattern with vertical lines in various warm natural tones. The textile ensures a soft and even light distribution. The cord exits through an opening in the glass base and is equipped with a switch. The lamp has been carefully cleaned and inspected in our workshop. The glass is in very good condition, and the lamp is complete with the original shade. The lamp is ready for immediate use.
