This teapot is crafted from Redware for its durability and ability to hold heat well. The C-shaped handle offers a comfortable grip for pouring while the gentle arcing spout is proportioned to minimize drips. It’s broad base contributes to its stability and it’s finished in a rich brown glaze. The “Brown Betty” originated in Staffordshire, England in the late 17th century but it’s style was widely adopted and produced in other countries, including the United States, becoming a staple in many households. Many American Redware pieces were unbranded and often handmade as is this piece however, it makes it a unique find. This measures 5.25” tall by 7.25 wide with an opening of 3”. This teapot is in good condition but it does have two small chip on the bottom of the lid as shown in the photos. See less
