Water was carried into the home by buckets and poured into this tub which sat on top of a fire stove that heated water for laundry, cooking and bathing. The home had one other huge tub for the adults to actually bathe in, but the children would be put in this tub, right on the floor and from oldest to youngest taking turns bathing. The tub is 29 inches long including the wooden handles which are still in great shape; the height is 13 inches and the width is 12. I found this tub many years ago and have kept it as it reminds me of my grandmother and can not honestly tell you where it was I purchased it from. See less
