A beautiful pair of mid-century table lamps, model 32060, designed by bertil brisborg for the swedish department store nordiska kompaniet in the 1940s. Crafted with a stained elmwood pillar rising from a circular brass base with an integrated light switch, and adorned with ornamented elements in polished brass and a black bakelite lamp holder. Complete with matching rattan lampshades. The renowned swedish department store nordiska kompaniet, nk, opened in stockholm in 1902. It played a significant role in introducing modern and innovative retail practices to sweden, bringing the concept of a department store to the city and offering a wide range of goods under one roof. The company had their workshops in nyköping, which were known for their exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to quality. Nk often collaborated with renowned designers to create unique and innovative pieces.
