Magnificent large oil on canvas, signed lower left A. Mercier for Adolphe Mary Mercier, born in 1882 in Paris. Presented in a gilt frame. He studied at the École Française. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he had been secretary since 1926. He also exhibited at the Salon de l'École Française. He was renowned as a painter of landscapes and seascapes. He is listed in the Bénézit.
