Authentic Los Artesanos stoneware goblets from Puerto Rico, produced in the 1960s under the direction of master potter Hal Lasky. These mid century studio pottery pieces are hand-thrown with a speckled glaze and feature a carved sgraffito geometric band, a signature design associated with Los Artesanos ceramics.
Los Artesanos operated from 1948 through the mid 1960s and is recognized as an important part of the mid century modern Caribbean studio pottery movement. Each piece was individually formed and wood-fired, resulting in natural variation in glaze, tone, and surface texture.
These pedestal cups have a sculptural hourglass form with earthy neutral tones typical of 1960s stoneware. They work well in mid century modern, organic modern, wabi sabi, and vintage ceramic collections. Suitable for use as drinkware, espresso cups, or decorative objects.
