Traveling Man Treasures is selling this stunning late Grand Tour Era bronze sculpture titled, "Flying Mercury" after the famous Italian Renaissance sculptor Giambologna (1529-1608).
The sculpture is in fine condition with a wonderful patina commensurate with an early 1900s attribution, and more refined detailing than its later mid-20th century counterparts. The bronze sculpture stands atop a charcoal grey marble plinth. The Caduceus that Mercury wields overhead has come loose over time, but it shows no signs of damage and still fits nicely into position.
