An inscription carved on the left side reads “Kyōhō 16, February 11” (1731), indicating that it was established approximately 300 years ago.

Nyoirin Kannon is one of the manifestations of Kannon (Avalokiteshvara), revered as a bodhisattva who grants wishes and bestows wisdom and good fortune.
This statue was likely enshrined in a temple, a small roadside shrine, or possibly within a cemetery setting, where it quietly served as an object of prayer and remembrance.

With a height of approximately 55 cm, it has a strong and grounded presence among stone Buddhas.
There is visible age-related wear to the facial features, and the eyes, nose, and mouth have become slightly worn over time. However, this has given the figure a softer and more gentle expression, reflecting the passage of time. The overall form and body lines remain beautifully preserved.

The base has been reinforced with a cement-like material, allowing the statue to stand securely on its own.
