Founded in 1822, Tetley's Brewery became one of Britain’s most recognized brewers, particularly known for its classic Tetley Bitter, an amber ale celebrated for its balanced character with notes of sweet toffee and a pleasantly dry bitterness. Over the years, Tetley developed a strong association with British sporting culture, becoming the first-ever sponsor of rugby league football during the 1971–72 season and later sponsoring the England national cricket team.
