Vintage Folk Art Hand-Carved Wood Religious Bulto / Santo Statue. This unique piece measures approximately 9 inches tall and is crafted in the Spanish Colonial tradition, likely originating from Mexico or the American Southwest (New Mexico). It features a male figure, possibly Jesus or a saint, with an upraised hand giving a sign of blessing and a hand to the chest, perhaps representing the Sacred Heart. The carving has a beautiful, primitive, and rustic folk art charm with polychrome paint in earth tones (green, brown, black, red). The back is flattened and includes a small metal loop/hook for wall hanging. A striking and devotional collector's item with significant character and age.
