Vintage Phil-Mar MCM Ceramic Mare & Colt Horse Table Lamp Pair | Black Glaze | Original Fiberglass Parchment Shades | c. 1950s | ~25" Tall
A wonderful matched pair of vintage Phil-Mar mare and foal ceramic television lamps LiveAuctioneers — one of the most iconic and collectible designs from the golden age of American mid-century ceramic lamps. Offered here as a complete pair with their original fiberglass shades — a rare find.
✦ THE LAMPS
Each base features a beautifully modeled running mare with colt beside a naturalistic tree trunk — Phil-Mar's signature horse figurative design — finished in a deep, lustrous black/oxblood high-gloss glaze. The hollow ceramic construction is typical of quality 1950s American lamp production.
✦ THE SHADES
Both original octagonal fiberglass parchment shades in salmon/terracotta with period-correct metal whipstitch trim at top and bottom — intact and displaying well. Original shades for Phil-Mar lamps are increasingly difficult to find.
✦ DIMENSIONS
Approximately 25" tall with shade, 14" wide per lamp.
✦ ELECTRICAL
Both lamps are wired and functional. As with all vintage lamps of this age, rewiring is recommended before regular use. Sold as decorative/collectible items.
